Before the lecture started, the voluntary nurses measured the height and weight of the participants, and calculated their Body Mass Index (BMI). Health advices was given to each participant. In order to encourage participants to measure blood pressure regularly, Hong Kong Credible Care Volunteers Association Limited produced a "My Health Record" handbook for the elderly to mark their own record. The elders were also being reminded to bring the handbook to every medical consultation for doctors' reference so as to strengthen the patient-doctor communication.
