The final "Nursing" course of the first semester titled "Drug Safety" organized by the Health Academy for the Elderly was held on 9 September 2017. Ms. Amy CHU, Pharmacist of Queen Elizabeth Hospital, was invited by the Hong Kong Medical Association and Hong Kong Credible Care Volunteers Association Limited to be the speaker. Ms. Amy CHU started with presenting on the guidelines for drug taking, followed by the introduction of medicines commonly prescribed for the elderly. The side-effects of each common drug and the management of the side-effects were also covered in the lecture. Besides, Ms. Amy CHU introduced several websites to students so that they can get more useful drug information and enhance their understanding of different drugs.
