The 15th and 16th "Carers Support Workshops", namely "Care for the Frail Elderly - Techniques on Lifting and Transfer" and "Meditation Workshop", were held on 4 November 2017. Mr. CHUNG Ming Kui, Michael, Department Manager (Physiotherapy) of Ruttonjee & Tang Shiu Kin Hospital and Ms. Janice SO, Founder of Heart Strong Learning and Psychotherapist, were invited to be the speakers. During the lifting and transfer session, several aspects were covered, including safety, tips, techniques and practices, so that carers can fully understand what they should take note of when taking care of a frail elderly. The role play section also allowed carers to apply techniques they learnt to actual situation, which enhanced their caring capability. During the "Meditation Workshop", participants practiced breathing and meditation under Ms. SO's guidance. Apart from helping them to improve concentration, meditation can also relieve their stress.
