MediLink Teleline Provides Access to Medical Consultation during the Christmas Holiday

The Hong Kong Medical Association MediLink toll-free telephone hotline, sponsored by Pacific Century CyberWorks Limited, will be in operation again to provide information about access to medical consultation during the 3-day Christmas Holiday from 25 to 27 December 2010.

The MediLink telephone hotline operates in 3 languages: Cantonese, Putonghua and English. Members of the public can access the MediLink hotline service by calling 90000-222-322 to obtain the telephone numbers of doctors who will provide medical consultations during the holidays. In the MediLink, doctors' information is grouped into 18 geographic districts. Callers can choose their preferred districts as instructed. The MediLink hotline information is also available from the HKMA web site at www.hkma.org.

For the 3-day Christmas Holiday, a total of 49 private medical practitioners, 11 private hospital outpatient departments and 12 public clinics registered with the MediLink will be offering medical consultation services.

The MediLink telephone hotline was first launched in December 1995 with the sponsorship of Pacific Century CyberWorks Limited.
